eliminare le distanze, mantenere le differenze

『個性』や『オリジナリティ』など、私たちは「人と違う」ということについて 色んな言い方をします。「赤色」が「緑色」とは違うこと、氷が冷たくてコーヒーが温かいこと、太陽が明るくて雨にあたれば濡れる事・・・このように「違いがある」ことについては神様に感謝しなくてはいけませんね。
おそらく皆さんも 全てが灰色の世界、毎日が同じ事の繰り返し、全ての人が同じ顔の世界・・・
で暮らしたいとは思わないでしょう！？
でも残念なことに、現在私たちの暮らす世界では「違い」という言葉が しばしば「悪い意味」でとらえられることがあります。
「違う物」は時に 「理解しがたく」「危険」で、「宇宙人」や「異種の人」、「反対意見の人」「別の世界の人」、なんてとらえられることがあります。つまり「違う事」は「修正すべき、減らすべき点」として見られるのです。
こういった考えはおそらく、個々の人々が「自分に自信がない」ことや、「精神的に弱い」からこそ生じる考えなのではないでしょうか？なぜなら 本来 「違うという事」は この世界において最も大切なこと、楽しむべきこと、守るべきことなのです・・・。「違い」があるからこそ、私たちはなにかにチャレンジしようとするし、成長していくのだし、他の人の自分と違う意見も理解しよう・・・とするのです。
Ｃｏｍｐｌｅｘｉｔｙ
今日 “「強い個性」は、時として社会の動きを邪魔する”と考えられることがあります・・・が、そうではありません！実際 これら（個性と社会）はお互いをサポートしあうことだってあります。
自分の個性を磨いている人は きっといつか 町に新しい考えを取り入れ、盛り上げてくれたり、パワーを与えてくれることでしょう。同時に 個性が感じられるようになった町も、今度は人々の力となってくれたり、やる気を盛り立ててくれるはずです。（いわば「ＷＩＮ-ＷＩＮ ＳＩＴＵＡＴＩＯＮ」ですね。）
バランスの取れた自然界の環境は、異なった（複雑な）様々な要素がベースとなって成り立っています。
例えば・・・原林が 数え切れない沢山の植物でなりたっていて・・・、
沢山の果物があり、それらは「それぞれの季節」に実って熟れる・・・そして それぞれ動物をサポートする・・・
さらにそれぞれの動物もまた 果物を食すことで 森のバランスを保つ手助けをしている・・・これぞ「食物連鎖」です。
「食物連鎖」は お互いの関係とバランスが保たれたいい状態ですよね。
このように「複雑なこと」「違うこと」は 「沢山あること＝豊か」である証拠だし、「柔軟」である証拠でもあります。
また、複数の可能性を提示してくれて、お互いを補い合う事、バランス、知性、平和な関係に繋がるともいえるでしょう。
「複雑」であることが「難しい事」「やっかいなこと」なんて考えている人は、
おそらく「自由」をも 放棄してしまうことになります。
「同じ」であること「単純」であること が いい意味でとらえられる現代ですが、
社会や政治の世界での話をすると・・・これって 非常に「コントロールしやすい状況」をうみだしている事になるんです。
その事実を踏まえたうえで、本当に「同じであることが良い」といえるでしょうか？
Individuality, originality, variety, pluralism: in any way you call it , you are talking about difference. Thanks god that red is different from green, that ice cream is cold and coffee is hot, that sun is bright and rain is wet! Would you like to live in a world where the only color is gray every day repeats itself and all the people have the same face? Strange enough, in our globalized world, difference started to be associated with the idea of imperfection. Something which is different is difficult when not dangerous, alien if not antagonist. The difference should be corrected, optimised, eliminated. 
There is no contraddiction between strong individuality and community life: actually these concepts reinforce each-other: people who develop their original personality bring fresh ideas and enthusiasm into their city: at the same time the city which has couscience of its peculiar image is nurturing and energetic. This is a win-win situation. Aggregation of different (complementary) elements is at the base of the balance of all natural environments. For instance, a native forest contains uncountable species of trees: different fruit ripes in different seasons and it is supportive to many species of animals which all contribute to the balance of the forest itself. The natural chain explains well the reciprocal relation between the environment and its dwellers, and between the individuality of the different dwellers. Complexity is synonimous with abundance, flexibility, multiplicity, balance, reciprocity, intelligence, peace. Who says that "complex" means "difficult" or "tiring", most likely he is just trying to steal your freedom.
